Tim Stauffer Loss; William Ponce does not

Tim Stauffer took his first loss since joining Portland. Dennis Tankersley came on – to pinch hit. Brad Baker is closing in on a milestone, literally. Jared Wells was pounded for seven runs – the second straight game he has been hit hard. Paul Abraham did not have any runs charged to him but was responsible for three and owes apologies to Greg Conden. Ruben Mora continues his hot bat as Eugene pummeled the opposition. William Ponce secured his first victory.

Mora, Morton produce in 12; Nady triumphant return

Xavier Nady, upset at his recent demotion took his frustrations out on Fresno. Mobile was rained out and will be made up on Saturday. The BayBears need just one win to clinch. Easy Eddie Bonine is finding out the California League is not so easy. Brian Buchanon went 0-for-3 with Lake Elsinore in a rehab assignment. No pitcher in Fort Wayne went unscathed in a thrashing. Eugene wins in extra innings on the bats of Ruben Mora and Colt Morton. Lachlan Dale starts where he left off – hot.
