First INT Was Memorable in More Than One Way

A first ever interception is naturally a significant milestone for any cornerback. In the case of Keno Walter-White, the pleasant memory was also almost enough to aid ASU achieve a rare win against USC.

With this being the first recruiting weekend of new Husky head coach Tyrone Willingham's tenure it seemed ironic that a rare bit of wintry weather hit the Seattle area. A metaphor, perhaps? The Husky football program has been in hibernation for the last two seasons with two coaching changes and its first losing season in 27 years.

Walter-White still committed

Jimmy Lake made a couple of calls before cleaning out his desk last week. The former Washington corners coach had been recruiting Keno Walter-White, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback from San Diego (Calif.) Mesa College. Lake had some advice to give to Walter-White, who had verbally committed to UW back in July.

JC corner commits to Washington

Washington earned a surprising commitment Thursday from a player flying a bit under the radar. Coach Martin Moss of Mesa College in San Diego confirmed that Keno Walter-White, a 6-1, 175-pound cornerback, has verbally committed to the Huskies over interest from schools like Arizona State, Auburn and Michigan State.
