Calipari and staff hit the road

The first of two July recruiting periods opens today and John Calipari and his staff, along with the staffs of other programs from around the country, will be hitting the road in search of prospects to fill 2010 rides as well as building for future classes. What is Kentucky's scholarship outlook like in 2010? How many prospects might we see Calipari sign in this class?

DEMAREE: Credit Rupp Arena for the win

The nine o'clock games are not the most desirable time for many of the Kentucky fans because of the ending time. Many People are in slumber land when a game of that time concludes. Many fans have to go to work early the next morning. Much of the media have a tight deadline that sometime have to be extended. Players have class the next morning. But all's well that ends well.

Cats take bite out of Dawgs, 68-45

Kentucky avoided the let down that is always possible coming off a big win, taking care of business during their trip to Athens, Georgia, coming away with a 23-point victory, which saw Coach Gillispie use his bench extensively in the final five minutes of play.

Meeks guns down Vols, Cats win 90-72

Jodie Meeks shot down the hopes of keeping intact Tennessee's SEC home winning streak, pouring in 54 points against the Volunteers. In scoring the 54 points Meeks displaced UK legend Dan Issel atop the UK career single game scoring mark. Issel had previously held the single game record of 53 points. Meeks hit ten threes, topping the single game record of 9 he shared with Tony Delk.

WALKER: Cats can defeat Cardinals

Kenny Walker writes, "When the season started, I probably didn't think Kentucky could beat Louisville. But it absolutely could happen now. Kentucky is playing better, we match up well against Louisville and Louisville has not played to its potential. It will be an interesting game at Louisville, but we can win."

Cats roll over Tennessee State 102-58

Patrick Patterson scored a career high 33 points and Jodie Meeks continued his three-point barrage while scoring 32 to lead the Cats to their third 100 point game of the season, as they cruised to a 102-58 win over visiting Tennessee State. Tennessee State coach Cy Alexander said, "We need to congratulate the University of Kentucky because they really took it to us tonight."

Jodie and the Cats not meek in victory

It was Jodie Meeks day at Freedom Hall on Saturday. Meeks set a new Freedom Hall record for points scored by a UK player by pouring in 46 points in leading the Cats to a 93-69 win over Appalachian State University. The 46 points eclipsed the former record of 42 held by current radio color analyst Mike Pratt.
