Vandal Seniors To Be Honored Saturday

IN FRONT OF A SELLOUT CROWD in the Kibbie Dome this Saturday (2pm kickoff), the University of Idaho will honor the football team's 17 seniors in a pregame ceremony. Idaho fans are encouraged to wear BLACK to this rivalry game, with the Vandals hosting a Boise State team that is currently No. 1 in the Western Athletic Conference and ranked No. 9 in the nation in this week's BCS standings.

PLAYER POST-GAME: Vandals discuss SJSU game

Saturday afternoon's loss to San Jose State by a final score of 30-24 was a much closer game than most expected for a Spartan team battling for a bowl berth and a Vandal team continuing to rebuild in the second year of the Robb Akey era. Sophomore linebacker Jonathan Faraimo was joined by Nathan Enderle, Lee Smith, and Eddie Williams in the post-game press conference to discuss the game.

Two Vandal Walkons Earn Scholarships

Congratulations to former walkons LEE SMITH (wide receiver out of Everett, WA) and JOEL JONES (long snapper and tightend out of Longview, WA), both of whom were recently awarded football scholarships for the upcoming season. Both played significant roles last fall at Idaho, and both will be counted on to be key contributors in 2006.

Freshmen Make Impact on Offense

Kickoff against Washington State is just a few days away, and the list of freshmen expected to see action in the Vandal OFFENSE is beginning to take form. The number of "true" freshmen expected to play is relatively small (likely only H-Back #29 Eddie Williams), but the list grows to 8 or 9 if you factor in redshirt, grayshirt, and true freshmen combined.
