Atherton joins Padres; Carroll shines

Stephan Faris is solid but the Missions offense stalls. Drew Miller gives up five runs in a loss. Jeremy Hefner is dynamite and Yefri Carvajal has three hits. Blake Tekotte debuts in Eugene but Sawyer Carroll shines. Jaff Decker continues to sizzle while Tim Atherton has an interesting trek to joining San Diego. Javer Diaz has a solid run of outings.

Vince Sinisi and Will Venable flash the muscle but Edwin Moreno blows a save. Chris Shaver suffers his third loss in Lake Elsinore. Lance Zawadzki hits a grand slam in a Fort Wayne win. Dan Robertson reaches four times but Eugene loses. Brad Brach is off to a fine start in the AZL. Pedro Martinez walks the world in the DSL.

Tom King puts the Beavers up early and it sticks behind a strong Wade LeBlanc outing. The Missions keep winning – this time behind Sean Kazmar's heroics in the eighth. Ernesto Frieri has a solid outing but the pen blows the lead. Fort Wayne has a one-run lead thanks to Yefri Carvajal's double in the ninth – but the game will finish on Sunday.

Peoria, IL- The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs placed RHP Billy Muldowney and RHP Jose Ceda on the disabled list Tuesday. Muldowney, Ceda and Rafael Dolis have all returned to Mesa, AZ to begin treatment and rehab programs.
