Point guard Kal Bay will not be part of next season's CU basketball team, the school has confirmed. It's the fourth scholarship player from last year's freshman class that won't return.
The Colorado men's basketball team went through its first workout under new head coach Jeff Bzdelik on Friday. Talking to players afterward, it sounded as though the practice – closed to media – was an eye-opener.
CU basketball players who didn't have class conflicts showed up outside the University Memorial Center where Jeff Bzdelik's press conference was held Wednesday morning. The players were carrying backpacks, as students usually do these days, but they looked as though a weight had been lifted from their shoulders.
With Richard Roby coming off the bench for the first time in two years for disciplinary reasons, a lifeless Colorado team was no match for No. 8 Kansas at Coors Events Center in Boulder Wednesday. KU whipped the Buffs 75-46.

The Colorado Buffaloes displayed two elements of a good basketball team that had eluded them much of the season — defense and clutch foul shooting — and beat the No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys 89-77 at home Saturday.
