Redshirt junior defensive end Doug Fulmer hasn't played much football in the past two seasons due to left ankle and right knee surgeries, just four games in 2006, and after a tough opening workout Tuesday hasn't been back on the field the past two days during Pitt's training camp practices.

It's been three years since his arrival on campus – an arrival anticipated by many. But injuries plagued him early in his career at Pitt. First it was an ankle, and then it was an ACL. But after being sidelined for two years, Doug Fulmer is finally ready to go.

The University of Pittsburgh recently added two of the top players from the state of New York when defensive end McKenzie Mathews and running back Kevin Collier joined Pitt's 2006 recruiting class. It appears that the Panthers are once again leading for a top prospect from the same state.

The University of Pittsburgh has landed their second standout from Central (N.Y.) The Panthers previously landed Paul V. Moore running back Irvan Brown. New York football is on the rise and the Panthers will need to recruit heavily, and having a foundation is critical.
