Like the other offensive line positions, guard has a ton of talented bodies but not a ton of experience. The Cats enter camp with some solid starters and some talented young players pushing them for playing time.

JC's are no quick fix

To JC or not JC that is the question. For many rebuilding programs hitting the JC ranks hard is the way to go. It worked at Cal. It has worked at Kansas State and Fresno State. There are a number of programs who have mined the JC ranks for quality players. Arizona is not one of them.

Wildcats land 6th offensive lineman

Coming into this past weekend the Wildcats had already landed five very good offensive linemen from the high school ranks. But, with the departure of three seniors after this season, the Cat coaches are looking to add one more from the JUCO ranks and now the coaches have their man.

JUCO Lineman excited for Zona trip

After the conclusion of the 2004 football season the Wildcats will lose two current starters along the offensive line in senior left tackle Chris Johnson and senior center Keoki Fraser. The Cats will also miss 6th year senior right tackle Brandon Phillips, who is currently injured and may not play again this season.

In a continued effort to improve along the offensive line, Iowa State is mining the California junior college ranks in hopes of scoring some immediate help. The Cyclones are one of several programs to have offered a player from the northern part of the state.
