With today's announcement that Jared Carter, A.J. Stewart and Donald Williams will not return to Kentucky next season the Wildcats get closer to the NCAA scholarship limit of thirteen.

Cats take bite out of Dawgs, 68-45

Kentucky avoided the let down that is always possible coming off a big win, taking care of business during their trip to Athens, Georgia, coming away with a 23-point victory, which saw Coach Gillispie use his bench extensively in the final five minutes of play.

Meeks guns down Vols, Cats win 90-72

Jodie Meeks shot down the hopes of keeping intact Tennessee's SEC home winning streak, pouring in 54 points against the Volunteers. In scoring the 54 points Meeks displaced UK legend Dan Issel atop the UK career single game scoring mark. Issel had previously held the single game record of 53 points. Meeks hit ten threes, topping the single game record of 9 he shared with Tony Delk.

Cats roll over Tennessee State 102-58

Patrick Patterson scored a career high 33 points and Jodie Meeks continued his three-point barrage while scoring 32 to lead the Cats to their third 100 point game of the season, as they cruised to a 102-58 win over visiting Tennessee State. Tennessee State coach Cy Alexander said, "We need to congratulate the University of Kentucky because they really took it to us tonight."

A.J. Stewart tried to avoid the question for good reason. He knew it would be hard to explain why the same player who was caught sleeping in a pregame film session last year and also had some issues with class and tutor attendance could already be in coach Billy Gillispie's doghouse in mid-October.

VAUGHT: Harris wouldn't slack off

Ramon Harris was tempted at times during the summer maybe not to work out as hard every day as the Kentucky coaching staff wanted him to. After all, he had shown coach Billy Gillispie last season that he could contribute in a variety of ways and with a year's experience, he figured to automatically be better this year. But Harris knew he couldn't slack off even one day.
