Michigan State's inprobable march to the Final Four and perhaps to a National Championship continued with a 70-69 win over Tennesee. Raymar Morgan made one free throws and intentionally missed the second to run clock, a move that nearly backfired.
Michigan State is greatful that guard Durrell Summers woke up from a long stretch of slumbering through the Big Ten season just in time to put up some of his best performances in the NCAA tournament.
Michigan State's strong defense and clutch execution down the stretch punched the Spartans ticket to the Elite Eight. The Spartans held the Panthers for over 10 minutes without a field goal.
It will take more than talent for MSU to get back into the conference race. It'll take guts - the crowd at Mackey Arena will make it the most hostile of snakepits that MSU has faced all season.

Summers got out of his scoring funk in the first half and the Spartans were able to hang on for 60-53 win to stay tied with Illinois for first place in the Big Ten, setting up a showdown for Saturday's home game against the Illini.

Newly named captain Draymond Green finished with 14 points, 11 boards, and four assists. Raymar Morgan and Allen reached double figures with 14 and 12 points respectfully. Freshman Derrick Nix continues to improve in his starting role by getting the Spartans going with four of their first six points.
