The Houston Texans had little to cheer about after their loss to the New England Patriots last Sunday. Losing by 33, the Texans did some things well that weren't reflected on the scoreboard. One of the positives to come out of the game was Ron Dayne's ability to rush against the third best rush defense in the league. Dayne managed a 5.2 ypc average. Not bad on a day everything else went wrong.

The Houston Texans are lacking three major players during the first mini-camp that began Wednesday. Mario Williams, Jerome Mathis, and Domanick Davis are not participating due to injury. While the prognosis for return is good for some, others will be sidelined until after the season is well underway.

Texans WR and Pro Bowl kick returner Jerome Mathis has been diagnosed with a foot fracture that will require surgery. Mathis will undergo this proceedure today. Prognosis is expected to keep Mathis off the field until week 4 or 5 of the regular season.
