In a conversation with the Tar Heel staff on Friday night, 2008 signee Joseph Townsend discovered that UNC will hold a scholarship spot for him.

The Tar Heels didn't have a defensive tackle on their 2008 Signing Day roster announced on Wednesday, but it appears they will be adding one after all. Joseph Townsend has committed to UNC and signed the Letter of Intent, which is expected to be finalized in the coming days.
