Po'u Palelei was one of the marquee players of ASU's 2007 recruiting class. He was also the lone player that failed to qualify academically. The Las Vegas offensive lineman moved to the valley and enrolled at Mesa Community College to study for the SAT and enroll in classes. How is he fairing academically these days? Devils Digest sat down with Palelei and got the latest update on his status.

For the last several weeks the Sun Devil nation has been anxiously waiting to see if offensive lineman Po'u Palelei has cleared the academic hurdle and qualified to play for ASU. Devils Digest went straight to the source and talked to the Bishop Gorman (Nev.) standout about this topic.

"I made the decision a couple days ago (to commit to Arizona State), but ASU has always been on my mind," Po'u Palelei said. "ASU just has better options for me. I also like Washington, which was my No. 2 choice - but I want to go to ASU. I love the stadium and how it was built out of a mountain. The whole landscape in the background is really cool..."

It's been a crazy time for Po'u Palelei lately. This past weekend, he was helping the west take care of the east in the 2007 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. As soon as he got home to Las Vegas, he went right back on the road - this time to Seattle, Wash. for an official visit to Washington.
