Junior cornerback BREYON WILLIAMS (shown here with a 34-1/2" vertical jump) was among a packed house at the Iverson Speed and Strength Center during the Vandal football team's "Night of Champions" weightlifting competition. Numerous new marks and personal bests were set this evening, including runningback Devon Sturdivant's new record of 383-pounds in the clean.

Players To Watch At Idaho In 2008

As we get ready for the upcoming Signing Day and prepare for Spring Camp, we've begun updating our databases. We've updated our roster with player weights, and are working on our scholarship tracker. As a result, we're preparing to track several NEW players in the program who joined the Vandals with last year's recruiting class, including 3-star cornerback T.J. TAYLOR who redshirted last fall.

Ready to play immediately

The Vandals recruited another solid class this year (ranked among the top in the WAC by Scout) featuring balance on both sides of the ball. The class includes 3-star recruit COREY WHITE out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, rated the #58 runningback prospect in the country by this year. He'll get his shot at immediate playing time this fall for the Vandals, and is ready to go.

Frequent Flyer

Corey White visited Colorado State in December and looked like a lock to end up as a Ram, but after they filled all theirs spots he found himself searching for alternate choices. White's only offer now is from Idaho, but he thinks he also has a good chance of getting scholarships from New Mexico and Wyoming and plans to visit both the Lobos and Cowboys before Signing Day.

"It Really Comes Down To…"

"I was supposed to visit Washington this weekend, but Coach (Tyrone) Willingham wasn't going to be there," said Las Vegas running back Corey White. "So, I'm going to Colorado State instead. It really comes down to Washington and Colorado State. I'll probably make a decision once I get back from Colorado State and have a chance to visit Washington on an official visit..."

Recruiting update: Corey White

WITH THE TOP TWO running backs on the Beavers' depth chart seniors-to-be next season, Oregon State could be in the market for a player like Corey White -- a 5-8, 190 pound dynamic runner with both power and the ability to get lost in between the tackles. The Las Vegas running back, closing in a 1,000 yard season, talks recruiting and about being a team player.

Oregon State likes 4-star hoss

EVERYTHING ON OFFENSE starts up front, college coaches say. If you're solid on the offensive line, you don't have to be picture perfect in some other areas -- yet the results often will be. One of the top prep line recruits in the nation,'s No. 11 overall prep prospect at offensive guard, Las Vegas' Po'u Palelei holds double digit offers, one of which is from Oregon State.
