Pittsburgh will send Tony Armas (1-3, 6.31) to the mound on Saturday against the San Francisco Giants, hoping for a repeat performance of the right-hander's last outing on Aug. 1. Armas made his first start since May 17, and held St. Louis to one run and four hits in 6 1-3 innings in a 15-1 victory - his first since Sept. 24. Tony Armas looked sharp Thursday in the Pirates' 5-3 loss against the Toronto Blue Jays. The right-hander went five innings, his longest stint this spring, and gave up two runs on four hits. Armas lowered his ERA to 3.86 and appears fully recovered from his shoulder surgeries in 2003 and 2005. PiratesDugout.com's George Von Benko caught up with Armas recently at spring training.
