IT'S NOT OFTEN you see two interception returns for touchdowns in a game. But Alex Hoffman-Ellis and Myron Beck pulled it off in the Cougs' victory over Southern Methodist and the CF.C lens was there to capture them, plus a whole lot more in this 32-shot salute.

IT WAS GOING to be, or so everyone thought, one or the other -- either senior Kevin Lopina or sophomore Marshall Lobbestael would take the reins at quarterback this season. But WSU coach Paul Wulff said during his Thursday conference call that true freshman Jeff Tuel has been prepared to play for weeks.

ONLY ONE OF the three linebacker spots was supposed to be filled by an inexperienced player in Washington State's season opener Saturday against Stanford. That no longer is the case. There's also a new starter on the d-line, more on the plan about which youngsters will redshirt this year -- it's a larger number than what you might expect -- and more.

PULLMAN -- Judging from his outstanding play in fall camp, Washington State's Kevin Norrell may be ready to emerge as one of the top young receivers in the Pac-10. If he does have a breakout season, Norrell won't be the least bit surprised.
