After missing 73 games with a broken wrist catcher Ryan Doumit is back in the Pirates lineup and starting to contribute offensively. Entering action on Saturday Doumit is batting .244 with five home runs and 19 RBI. PiratesDugout.com's George Von Benko spoke with Doumit at the end of the recent homestand.
Pirates catcher Ryan Doumit who has been sidelined since April 19 after undergoing surgery on his right wrist is progressing nicely with his recovery, the injury was originally expected to keep him from playing for eight to 10 weeks.
The Pirates have placed catcher Ryan Doumit on the 15-day disabled list (retro to April 20 ) due to a fracture of the scaphoid bone (right wrist). Doumit injured the wrist while batting in the game against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, April 19.
