It was yet another successful year for JC recruits and the schools that recruited them. Several schools signed multiple JUCO prospects while others were a little more selective, doing their best to fill holes in their rosters. Despite losing Edwin Herbert to Florida it was a good visit weekend for the Vols who firmed up Toney Williams' commitment, and signed a pair of Junior College defensive lineman in Jonathan Hollins and Rae Sykes that will enroll in January and should be a boost to the front seven next fall.

Jonathan Hollins, Scout.com four-star defensive end from College of the Canyons, (Calif.), originally signed with Texas Tech out of high school. He re-opened his recruitment and has now pledged his services to the University of Tennessee. Hollins talked about the decision and arrival date in Knoxville.

Forget the west coast offense — and most Big Orange fans are trying to do just that — Tennessee appears to be making a switch to the west coast defense with a commitment from College of the Canyons defensive lineman Jonathan Hollins, who joins City College of San Francisco D-tackle Edwin Herbert in UT's Class of 2009.

Last year, College of the Canyons was loaded along the defensive line and this year they continue to be led by DT/DE Jonathan Hollins (6-3, 280) who committed during the spring to Texas Tech, the school he originally signed with out of high school. It's been a long time coming, but defensive lineman Jonathan Hollins is ready make good on his commitment to become a Red Raider. The talented College of the Caynons DL was recently extended an offer by the Texas Tech coaching staff, and he was happy to give his verbal commitment.
