As a Nebraska boy, it shouldn't be hard fitting in for D.J. Jones. But this is a whole new team with all new and raised expectations. The second you hit the field, you are the same as everyone else and you are expected to do exactly as they do. That's part of the adjustment, but as Jones said in this post practice interview, that's part of what makes this team a family.

In the mid-90's, the success for Nebraska centered not just on the speed that they had on defense or their skill players on offense, but with their road-grading lineman on offense as well. Most of those players hailed from in-state as well and D.J. Jones is the latest and greatest in-state lineman to come to Nebraska. Here is D.J. Jones, one on one.

You can't say how many times he's seen the campus at the University of Nebraska. We'll call it a lot. That didn't make future Husker D.J. Jones'official visit to Nebraska any less exciting. In fact, from everything he already knew to everything he knows now, he said it was an "11" out of 10. Oh, and he is excited, because over this weekend, a few other players added themselves to the list of "future Husker".

One of the biggest recruiting targets for Nebraska, figuratively and literally, was in-state born and grown D.J. Jones. Jones is a Scout.com, 4-star rated offensive tackle that gave Nebraska a very early commitment and also satisfied part of a huge need for tackles in this class.

Early commits sometimes don't get all of the hype that a player might get who decides to go through the process of recruiting. That is fine to D.J. Jones though. He may be one of the most important commitments to this class so far given the need for tackles this year. Jones doesn't mind it though, he is getting a chance to live out a dream in Lincoln.
