There number of guys on Alabama's injury list is in the double digits. Their ailments range from bumps and bruises, to strained ligaments to neck/shoulder problems. So how is it that injury news is to be taken in a positive light two and a half weeks from the season opener?

No Surgery For Coffee

Alabama sophomore running back Glen Coffee will not have to undergo surgery and is expected to return to the Crimson Tide in three to four weeks, it was announced Wednesday. A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test determined Coffee suffered strained knee ligaments and a bone bruise to his right knee during a scrimmage held Monday afternoon at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

While several members of the University of Alabama coaching staff were in Jacksonville, Fla. watching five-star quarterback Tim Tebow lead Nease High in his team's semifinal playoff game, Homewood offensive lineman David Ross capped a workmanlike season helping the Patriots to an undefeated state championship season.

Ross Says Roll Tide

The Homewood star knew his college decision was getting close and said, "I have been thinking about making my commitment for the past couple of weeks. I fit in better at Alabama and in Tuscaloosa than I do at Auburn. I decided after the game. Our season is about to heat up two weeks from now. I wanted to go ahead and get it out of the way."
