With the Travelers scheduled for a day off and Cedar Rapids apparantly destined to suffer through a six-month winter rather than a season, Salt Lake and Rancho claim wins in the system's only games of the day.

Salt Lake takes a beating for the ages

Salt Lake might not have looked great earlier in the weekend against Tucson, but Sunday was really something as the Sidewinders topped the Bees' total offensive output for the night in three separate innings. Fortunately, the pitching was solid elsewhere as Jesse Smith, Nick Adenhart, Robert Mosebach, Sean O'Sullivan and Esmerlin Jimenez all turned in solid efforts.

On the mend

Dallas McPherson and Casey Kotchman were supposed to be two cornerstones of the Angels' playoff run this year, but they have yet to appear on a major league field together this season. But, as of Thursday, they now have one game as teammates under their belt.

Only one win in four one-run games

Each of the Angels' affiliates played one-run contests on Monday, but only Cedar Rapids - behind the strong pitching of Tommy Mendoza - got a win. While Bartolo Colon got knocked around in his final rehab start for the Bees, it was Quakes' reliever Kevin Lynch who had the worst night in the system.

Bees and Travs win; Rancho, Kernels stymied

Salt Lake and Arkansas both slugged their ways to wins, but the Quakes and Kernels managed just eight hits between them on the night. Tommy Murphy keeps up the progress on the mound for the Kernels, but got no support at all.
