Former Gator looking for a new home

The 6' 2, 210 pound safety out of East Central CC was named the MAJC North Region Defensive Player of the Year after collecting 111 tackles and 2 int's on the season. This does not surprise many considering the reverse transfer from the University of Florida was rated the #3 safety in the country coming out of high school.

Jamar Hornsby has been to the University of Florida campus plenty of times in the past. He's camped at Florida, been to plenty of Florida football games and he's had other unofficial trips to Gainesville to check things out. The 6-4, 200-pound five-star rated safety/wide receiver from Jacksonville Sandalwood made an official visit to the Florida campus this past weekend and this time things were different than ever before.

Jamar Hornsby wakes up every day with the goal of getting his injured knee back to normal. The five star-rated (by Scout.com) wide receiver/safety out of Jacksonville Sandalwood is determined to make his surgically repaired knee stronger than ever and he is doing everything he can to ensure that he'll be ready to play football when he enrolls at the University of Florida in July. He's power walking now and ahead of his rehab schedule.
