Wulff seeks speed, Burns moves to RB

PULLMAN – Monday was a day of change, both anticipated and unanticipated, for the Cougs. As expected, the offensive line rotation was at full pitch with the season ending forearm fracture suffered by LT David Gonzales. But the coaches had another wrinkle in store, too. Redshirt freshman LB Arthur Burns made his return to the offense, and the running back position he starred at as a prepster.

PULLMAN -- With junior outside linebacker Alex Hoffman-Ellis nursing a sore back and taking the night off, redshirt freshman Sekope Kaufusi -- fresh off a eye-opening game against Oregon --jumped in with the first-team defense at the WIL position Monday. DAY 11, PM session: Offense takes to the air

PULLMAN--For two frustrating years, Washington State offensive coordinator Todd Sturdy has watched his once-productive no-huddle offense reduced to a no-scoring offense. Sturdy, who operated a virtual scoring machine when he coached under Paul Wulff at Eastern Washington, has been limited at WSU by injuries and inexperience. But significant progress is being made this fall.

DAY 10: Cougs practice thud, then slide

PULLMAN – The defense controlled the action during much of the "thud" workouts Wednesday at Washington State. The secondary blanketed receivers, aided by good pressure on the quarterbacks. The offense, however, finished on a scoring note.
