THINGS ONLY SEEM TO be growing, as Alice in Recruitingland would say, curiouser and curiouser. First Kerry Maddox says he's a Coug, then a Division I-AA Texas State Bobcat and now a Coug again. Vincent Joseph, meanwhile, was leaning so heavily to WSU he seemed a done deal. But Pete Carroll, with three late recruiting losses at corner, stepped in with an 11th hour offer that Vincent accepted. And that's just a flavor of the twists and turns enveloping the recruiting trail as LOI day looms.
IF FOOTBALL LETTERS OF intent were signed today, Washington State's newest group of recruits would look like a prototype of the classes assembled over the years by Mike Price and Bill Doba. In other words, roughly one-third JC transfers; lots of prepsters from Washington and California; some holdovers from the previous class; and a heavy dose of athletic tight end/defensive end/linebacker types who could fill any number of roles.
