On the short list of potential in-house outfield candidates a year ago, a horrific eye injury forced him out of the action for 2011 but he still offers the Mets some real long-term potential if and when he can come back from the injury.

Ratliff Inching His Way Back

Sean Ratliff sustained one of the worst baseball injuries imaginable back in Spring Training when he took a liner right below his eye in Luis Salazar fashion. Recovering from the injury since then, he says he is starting to get closer to possibly returning after he made his way down to Instructs recently.
