We had our first game on Thursday night in Sutherland, Australia, and lost to the Sutherland Sharks, 72-64. I thought we played just okay as could have been expected. We had a little bit of jet lag and I thought in the second half we got our legs under us and worked harder. We made the extra pass better in the second half, but didn't shoot it very well all night.

Beas Hamga is a 7-footer who became in demand. He was previously committed to Iowa before the coaching change. Then he went from a Class of 2008 guy to someone who was on track to qualify and play this fall. After a pair of visits, the Cameroon native made up his mind.

Beas Hamga has been long considered a Class of 2008 prospect - until recently. Now the 6-foot-11 Cameroon native, who spent this past season at Decatur Christian (Ill.) and already has a qualifying test score, will try and graduate early and enroll somewhere in the fall. His first visit comes this weekend.

The University of Kentucky basketball coaching staff is attempting to pull a rabbit out of its hat for the late signing period in 2007, as new coach Billy Gillispie is attempting to convince prized recruit Beas Hamga to enroll in the fall, as opposed to staying with his original classification for 2008.
