Reyes & Laffey Leave With Injuries

The bad news keeps mounting for the Indians. Pitchers Anthony Reyes and Aaron Laffey both left a 3-1 loss at Cincinnati on Friday night with injuries. Reyes has a sore right elbow. Laffey left with sharp pain in his right side -- possibly a strained oblique. The injuries put even more stress on an overworked and underachieving pitching staff that once again will likely turn to the minors for help.

9th-inning rally gets 7th win in row

All that's gone wrong for the Indians in 2008 seems forgotten during a season-high winning streak that reached seven straight Sunday night with a 4-3 win in Texas. Is it a late-season mirage or a team rebuilding its foundation for 2009? Management and fans certainly want to believe Franklin Gutierrez's game-winning hit and Anthony Reyes' strong seven innings of pitching are very much real.

Reyes to Cleveland for AA Reliever Perdomo

Never fully able to make the leap to the big leagues, St. Louis Cardinals Triple-A right-handed starter Anthony Reyes is now a member of the Cleveland Indians organization. Double-A reliever Luis Perdomo came the other way and will report to Springfield.
