Padres release nine minor leaguers

Peoria, AZ-- The San Diego Padres released nine players from minor league camp on Tuesday. Left-handers Erick Burke, Justin Mattison and Jan Granado, right-handers Ryan Trytten, Matt Varner, Eddie Pena, Jarrett Gardner, and Jamie Baker, and outfielder Adam Bourassa were let go.

Trytten Gets Second Chance

At 19 Ryan Trytten was a thrower in the Brewers system, but after being released by Milwaukee and ending up in the Independent League, Trytten did some growing up and has matured into a pitcher for the Padres. Just before his 24th birthday Trytten got a promotion to Lake Elsinore and talked to MadFriars about his journey.
