When Kyle Sleeth was selected with the third overall pick, the Tigers thought they were drafting a potential ace. Unfortunately, Tommy John surgery sidetracked those plans, and now Sleeth is still struggling to regain his form. Will Sleeth ever get 'it' back?

The Tigers came to terms at the end of last week with first round draft pick Andrew Miller. And now, despite the fact that Kyle Sleeth, the club's first round pick in 2003, had a three year head start, it's likely that Miller is going to beat him to the bigs. Is Miller that good, and where (and what) has gone wrong with Sleeth?

So far, the Tigers have had good luck when it has come to injuries, but that might be taking a bit of a turn as a few of the Tigers' prized prospects have been experiencing some injury issues. Plus, updates on a couple of top draft picks that have yet to appear in live action this season.

When the Tigers made Kyle Sleeth their top selection (and third overall) in the 2003 amateur draft, there were high hopes for Sleeth. Many expected him to move up the ladder quickly, and expected him to have already made his big league debut. But struggles against tougher competition and Tommy John surgery killed that plan, and now Sleeth has to re-establish himself as one of the top pitchers in the organization.
