The Seattle Seahawks recently released linebacker Cameron Jensen. Not that getting rid of Jensen is that earth-shaking; after all, he was on the team's practice squad for all of last season. But his release, which was first reported by Seahawks.NET, means that the Seahawks have only six linebackers on their roster as they head into the draft.

In what has been an up and down season for Seattle's offense, the fans on hand at Qwest Field for the first round of the NFL playoffs got both a Jekyll-and-Hyde performance, but the home team survived to play another week as they beat the emotionally drained Washington Redskins 35-14.

Over a period of almost six periods of play against Pittsburgh and New Orleans, the Seattle Seahawks were outscored by a 42-0 count. Predictably, it led to a pair of losses that dropped the Seahawks to 3-3. The good thing from the Seattle perspective, though, is that nobody else in the NFC West is doing anything either.

Going into a game against the winless St. Louis Rams is no guarantee of a win for the Seattle Seahawks. They proved that by falling 28-17 to a previously winless New Orleans Saints team last Sunday. For the second straight week, the Seahawk offense was terribly ineffective. They were shutout 21-0 at Pittsburgh, and failed to score against the Saints until they were down 21-0.

A strong start on the road in primetime is always critical, and QB Drew Brees will likely rely more on the short passing game to help complement a lackluster running attack. The Saints don't want to fall behind and subject Brees to the pass rush Seattle can bring with its linebackers, especially OLB Julian Peterson
