Sometimes on the Florida practice field, it is so hot it is inhumanely tough to push through. Yet the Gators understand that the heat is one of the advantages they have over the opposition. Count defensive tackle Lawrence Marsh as one of those players. Marsh came into camp in great shape, but he knows that fighting through the 100-degree temperatures is going to make him even better.

One of the unsung heroes of the 2008 championship team was defensive tackle Lawrence Marsh. Only a sophomore, Marsh also switched positions and started the entire year, playing very well in the process. With that year under his belt, Marsh expects to be more polished and make more plays. A year ago, he finally quit fighting it and realized it was meant to be that he was an interior lineman. Lawrence Marsh enters his junior season as a defensive tackle for the Florida Gators after a promising sophomore campaign. He wasn't a big play maker in his first year at the position, but was solid none the less. It is time for Marsh to take it to another level.

When Lawrence Marsh of August (GA) Josey committed to the Florida Gators back on November 29, perhaps he thought the calls from college coaches would come to an end. The calls haven't stopped and there has even been a personal contact from Georgia Coach Mark Richt, but it's a case of too little and too late for everyone but the Gators. Marsh wants everyone to know that he made his choice and he's happily sticking with it.
