Pitt's other 10 offensive linemen worked during the Tuesday afternoon session, and by the time the Panthers come together Saturday for a combined team practice Coach Dave Wannstedt believed the depth chart on the offensive line would be a little more settled.
When the 2008 football season rolls around, Pitt fans might worry about their new right tackle. After all, Joe Thomas spent the 2007 season as the starting right guard. But the 6-foot-5, 300-pound junior-to-be has no qualms with his new position. To Thomas, it feels just like home.
Before practice Thursday, Panther coach Dave Wannstedt said he was starting to get an idea of which players could really step up and make an impact on the field. And without question, his first-team defense looks to be filed with those players.
