Last month the Colorado Rockies acquired right-handed starter Kevin Slowey from the Minnesota Twins and slotted him in the back end of the rotation. Slowey is once again changing teams—and going back to the AL Central—as the Rockies agreed to send him to Cleveland today along with $1.25 million in exchange for RHP Zach Putnam.

DALLAS, Texas -- Kevin Slowey suffered through the worst season of his young career in 2011 and became a possible non-tender candidate this off-season. The Rockies, however, swooped in and took him off the Twins' hands, and in doing so created some added depth to their rotation come spring time.

April is usually a month where teams try to find their legs. The Twins, however, got out to a sprinting start to the 2010 season, thanks to some great pitching, and timely hitting. Francisco Liriano found his old form, Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer are killing the ball, and the bullpen has been lights out.

The Minnesota Twins got off to a fast start to the 2010 season this week, taking three of four games from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. After a sub-par effort from starter Scott Baker in game one, the Twins got great starting pitching from Nick Blackburn, Carl Pavano, and Kevin Slowey, and have taken first place in the AL Central going into the season's first weekend.

The Minnesota Twins finished out the month of April with an 11-11 record, which is not bad, considering they played the entire month without All-Star Catcher Joe Mauer. The team got great offensive efforts from Justin Morneau, Jason Kubel, Jose Morales, and Denard Span, while Glen Perkins and Kevin Slowey were tough on the mound.
