Interview: Adam Ballard

Hard-charging and relentless are just a few words to describe fullback Adam Ballard's style at fullback. He helped Navy to four straight Commander-in-Chief trophies and and bowl appearances (2004-07). These days, Ballard, 24, is hoping develop the next Adam Ballard. The Texan is a graduate assistant working with the fullbacks at the Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, R.I.

Swezey: A lot of good can happen Saturday

I really liked Paul Johnson's move to end the Notre Dame talk on Monday. I never will forget the lead-up to the Rose Bowl following the 2001 season, when Nebraska played Miami (Fla.) coming off a 62-36 loss to Colorado. Then-Nebraska Coach Frank Solich and his players were still answering about the loss up until the day before the Rose Bowl. No question it was a distraction, and a needless one.

Raise your hand if you thought Navy lost the game last night in the first overtime when sophomore nose tackle Nate Frazier jumped off-sides just as Pitt was about to settle for a 35-yard field goal in the first overtime. 2007 Army look ahead: Navy

It's been a rough five years for Army against Navy (more on that later). But this is a new season. Let's hope the Black Knights can knock off Navy en route to its first Commander-in-Chief's Trophy since 1996. It certainly won't be easy: We all know what Navy is capable of. Army and Navy meet on Dec. 1 in Baltimore.
