With organized team practices set to start on Friday, ASU newcomer Brandon Dunson is optimistic about the 2010-11 season. Despite losing the experience and leadership of three seniors from last year's squad, Dunson feels that the team's cohesiveness and perhaps a new identity are two key elements that are instilling a sense of confidence in him and the rest of this Sun Devil team.

It goes without saying that on an ASU team sporting seven newcomers leadership will be at a premium. While it's obvious that seniors Jamelle McMillan and Ty Abbott have already been fulfilling this role since the end of last season, don't count out first-year player and JC transfer point guard Brandon Dunson from assuming that responsibility as well.

It has been well documented how Brandon Dunson decided to commit to Arizona State prior to visiting the Sun Devils' campus. The junior college point guard didn't need any validation that he made the right decision, yet his trip to Tempe this past weekend just reinforced the initial feelings he already had concerning the maroon and gold and his basketball future.

Community College star Brandon Dunson is doing. The junior college point guard inked his name on his letter of intent with ASU this morning as he prepares for his official trip to Tempe this weekend.

Brandon Dunson was one of the more coveted junior college point guards in the 2010 class. Despite stiff recruiting competition from programs such as Gonzaga, Nevada and Oklahoma State, the Sun Devils were able to secure a commitment from the Wabash Valley (Ill.) In this two-part highlight film it's easy to see why the All-Region and All-Conference player was pursued by many reputable schools.

Wabash Valley Junior College point guard Brandon Dunson has only been recruited by ASU for a few weeks, but it didn't take long for both sides to be extremely found of each other. The maroon and gold offered a scholarship to Dunson just a few days ago, and the point guard decided to accept that offer Saturday morning and talked to Devils Digest about his decision.
