Recruiting picks up for Westling

Even though his team is off to an 0-4 start, Southwestern QB Drew Westling isn't getting discouraged. He's also starting to hear from a couple of schools that are looking for a veteran signal-caller to come in and play right away. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented passer shortly before practice recently and he talked about his team's season so far as well as his thoughts on recruiting.

Southwestern College Preview

Southwestern College has had talent over the years but has struggled with consistency, in part due to coaching turnover. In 2007, with a coaching change completed, the Jaguars are hoping to become more consistent -- very soon. JCFootball.com was able to speak with defensive line coach Eric Sanchez, who broke down the D-1 and D-1AA talent on both sides of the ball.

Westling hoping to make mark at Southwestern

When four-year schools go through coaching changes sometimes players decide a change of scenery will also do them some good as well. One such player is Southwestern QB Drew Westling (6-2, 205) who signed with Tulsa out of high school, but decided to head to the JC route after the coaching staff of the Golden Hurricanes headed east to Louisville.
