Dawgman Insider Blog - December

Culver City LB Victor Burnett joined the Dawgman.com crew Saturday morning on KJR and talked a lot of recruiting and what helped him make his decision and how much purple he got under the tree on Christmas day...

Monday Press Conference Notes

All the principals involved aren't talking about it; yet in many ways it's the only question worth asking now - will Jake Locker turn pro? With UW football finishing their season with nothing but pride on the line, fans are already looking ahead in anticipation, wondering if their junior quarterback will take the money and run to the NFL? Or will he stick around Montlake for one more season?

Small Senior Class Deserves AC Win

There were only 12 seniors listed in Washington's full depth chart for their last game, against OSU. Of the 27 listed in the offensive depth, only four were seniors and only two were starters recruited and signed into the program. Out of 28 listed players on defense, only seven were seniors - but again only three starters. There is only one senior of 11 listed players in the kicking game.

With that in mind, as well as the thought that he wants his team as fresh as possible going into their battle with the Bayou Bengals, it appears that full pads are done for fall camp.

First Scrimmage Used For Depth Analysis

It was almost one and done for the first fall scrimmage of the Steve Sarkisian era. The number one offense faced off against the number one defense for two series, and then basically shut it down with the exception of some spot playing. I think the coaches know who their first line players are and were more interested in using the scrimmage for finding out who else could help.

Five Areas of Concern as New Era Approaches

With all the good that has been coming out of Montlake, we are constantly being reminded of the terrible hangover from the previous system. Not one article or prognostication fails to mention the record or how awful the team was. I guess that is just the reality of losing, but I know the Huskies easily could've won four or five games had they not lost Jake Locker.
