PULLMAN -- High spirits and cold air filled the practice field as the Cougs began full pad on-field preparations for this Saturday night's showdown with California. A Cougar cornerback came in for praise, a pair of Cougar players returned to the practice field, and a linebacker and safety each made some noise.

PULLMAN - What up Cougs?! Sorry for the delay on this diary, we were off last week for the Holiday, I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July with family and friends. A pair of California sack masters have given their verbal commitments to Washington State. Ansley Clevil had thought he'd wait until later this week but turned out today was d-day for the LA-area standout as he joined fellow d-end Preston Brooks in becoming a Cougar.

COMING UP FROM the Los Angeles area, defensive end Ansley Clevil (6.3, 240. 4.68) didn't know quite what to expect on his trip to the Evergreen state this weekend. The official visit to the Palouse and Washington State ended up surpassing all of the defensive end's expectations, and then some.
