Loss of Spano not affecting mind-set of QBs

During the Spring Latravis Washington was just trying to figure things out. He just moved over from linebacker, after all. But now he's working on cementing what he can do so that he can be not just viable in this offense, but a factor. The loss of Kody Spano might be perceived as his move to number two. He doesn't look at it like that. He said the expectations and challenges are the same.

1-on-1 with the Huskers - Latravis Washington

It's nerve-wracking enough to be a freshman playing in Division 1-A, but for some, it's a bigger transition than others. Try being a quarterback playing linebacker. That's the scenario for freshman Latravis Washington, but he's adjusting quite well. But he still thinks of what it'd be like to be a QB.

Did Washington qualify?

The cousin of Fabian Washington, Latravis knew where he wanted to go all along. It was in the blood. It was in the name. The problem was academic, literally. On the field, there isn't a hurdle that Washington couldn't get over, but the hurdle of academics has held him up to this point. Has anything changed with Washington on his qualification status?

Washington's status still unclear

On the defensive side of the football, LaTravis Washington is a key part to the Nebraska recruiting class for 2007. While he did play quarterback in high school, he projects to play linebacker or safety at the next level. Those are two positions that may not need a lot of help this year from a true freshman, but will definitely be open to a redshirt freshman in the spring.

Washington pumped to be a Husker

The last name of Washington might mean something to Husker fans. People remember Fabian Washington and now Nebraska is expecting LaTravis Washington, his cousin. LaTravis will be playing in the same secondary that, now Oakland Raider, Fabian used to roam. LaTravis knew that this is where he wanted to go all long.

Washington listing Nebraska among favorites

One of the top athletes in the state of Florida seems to have narrowed things down a little as of right now. There aren't any official visits set yet, but if he had to choose them today he could rattle off who the top five schools were. As of right now, it doesn't look like he will be staying in the area so what will he be looking for in his decisions?
