Lost a bit in the brilliance of the Seahawks offense in recent weeks has been the much improved play in the secondary, which continued Sunday with reserves Kelcie McCray, Jeremy Lane and Marcus Burley drawing rave reviews from Pete Carroll.

There were plenty of highlights in Seattle's Week 14 dismantling of the Baltimore Ravens but the Seahawks suffered lots of injuries besides the season-ending ankle fracture by star rookie running back Thomas Rawls. Standout defenders Michael Bennett, Kam Chancellor and DeShawn Shead (among others) were also beaten up, according to coach Pete Carroll.
