Redshirt freshman wide out Markques Simas and sophomore linebacker Nate Vaiomounga were expected to impact the Colorado lineup this fall. Both players will be sitting on the sidelines, though, as will redshirt freshman offensive tackle Sione Tau. All three have been declared academically ineligible.

With just over a week remaining before CU's first game, the Sept. 1 opener vs. Colorado State, senior offensive threat Bernard Jackson's eligibility remains unclear. CU head coach Dan Hawkins addressed the issue for the first time in a while after Thursday's practice.

What an update this one is. Talk about some talent. The latest players to fax in their letter of intents include two of the top 10 wide receivers in California and one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the nation. Also, one of the top players in-state is included.

Every year around this time the rumor mill kicks into high gear with the chatter of recruits de-committing from schools and assessing other options. Their had been some whispers that USC and UCLA may have been making a late run at one of the top recruits in this CU class, receiver Markques Simas.
