One day a running back, the next a wide receiver. Some might think this is a perfect move. For sophomore Marcus Mendoza, it's an exciting one as he tries to find his way onto the field. But this young man has proven to have the ability to make plays, which is what he'd like to do both this Spring and this up coming season.

He's not long on size, but redshirt freshman running back Marcus Mendoza makes up for that with impressive speed and ankle-breaking moves in the open field. Nebraska nabbed a commitment today bringing up their unofficial total to 19. This speedster from the Lone Star State came in for an official earlier in the season and after a visit from Nebraska today decided to become a Husker. Nebraska is looking to use this player in a variety of ways. He spoke to Big Red Report about that.

One of the more exciting players in Texas is Marcus Mendoza. The 5-foot-9 and 180 pound running back from Houston (Texas) Spring Woods saw his season come to an end and his younger brother get hurt bad enough in the last game to need to go to the hospital. This weekend was supposed to be a bigger weekend for Nebraska with Texas recruits. In the end, there was just one recruit from the state of Texas, but a very good recruit. Marcus Mendoza was taking his second official visit and that gave him some basis for comparison. Nebraska stacked up well against it's competition.
