After a month or so of spring drills we were able to identify a number of things. The other day we wrote about the five emerging stars from this year's spring drills. We also saw that the first offensive line can be dominant, the skill talent is off the charts and the secondary made significant progress from the unit that played scared against Michigan.

When fall practice begins today, the Florida Gators will welcome 18 newcomers to the team. Florida's highly regarded recruiting class showed up in two shirts, with several guys entering school back in January and the rest joining the squad for the summer "B" term.

Earlier this month, the Florida Gators were well represented on the East Squad's defensive line at the US Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Future Gators Torrey Davis and Sidell Corley spent a week under the tutelage of Robert Prunty, the well-regarded coach from Hargrave Military Academy. Coach Prunty shared some thoughts with Gator Country about the two UF commitments.

It would be difficult to find a deeper unit on either team than the East defensive line. With so much five star talent in one area, it sets up for a battle where defensive linemen can push each other to get better. This is the case with Torrey Davis, as competition from other defensive greats has caused him to step up his talent.
