Introducing the 2007 Class: Chasen Stangel

Since he was eight years old, Chasen Stangel has known ASU's Safeties Coach Matt Lubick. He may have been less familiar with other coaches on the Sun Devil staff, but all those individuals collectively created a great sense of comfort with the San Jacinto (Calif.) quarterback. He was once committed to UTEP, but with all that ASU had to offer he was swayed to sign with the maroon and gold.

CA QB Pledges to ASU on Visit

San Jacinto (Calif.) signal caller Chasen Stangel was recruited by Sun Devils Head Coach Dennis Erickson while he was at Idaho. When Erickson accepted the job at ASU he naturally turned to this quarterback as a recruiting target. Stangel visited Tempe this past weekend, received a scholarship offer and left the valley of the Sun as the maroon and gold's latest verbal commit.

Stangel names favorites after tour

Chasen Stangel is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound quarterback from San Jacinto High School in San Jacinto, Calif., and Scout.com spoke with Stangel Saturday night as he was back on the road home to California after a whirlwind tour that took him to parts north and south. The hard part is done now, all that's left is the waiting.
