Bland shines, tempers flare, J.T. moves on

PULLMAN -- The running game took center stage Sunday afternoon in Washington State's second practice of the day, with Dwight Tardy and James Montgomery each offering compelling cases why he should start come Sept. 5. Meanwhile on Day 8 of the Cougars' fall camp, some tempers flared down in the trenches, Louis Bland made his presence known, and J.T. Levenseller decided it was time to move on.

Charting the Cougar weight, muscle gains

THE UPDATED WEIGHTS for the Cougar footballers are in. The numbers, as they were in the spring, remain striking. There are many who have gained 15-20 pounds, and more, since last year. Then there are players who put on the bulk before the spring, then trimmed and repackaged it this summer to add quickness. CF.C charts the progression from fall of '08, to the '09 spring, to today.

POLL: The Cougs' starting QB

NOTHING IN FOOTBALL generates differing opinions like a starting quarterback debate. And this year at Washington State, the issue won't be determined until there's been observation and analysis from fall camp. But although we're about a month away from the start of fall camp, that won't stop us from asking you the question..

SPRING BALL DAY 4: Cougar Defense roars

PULLMAN--The Cougs' fourth spring session mirrored the late afternoon weather conditions. Things started nicely and then went from bad to worse for the O and Cougar aerial attack. It wasn't all bad though. The first team crimson D had a field day and spent so much time in the backfield, their mail should be delivered there. One returning Cougar had a big day -- but another was injured.
