SIX VANDAL FOOTBALL PLAYERS WERE NAMED to the All-WAC Second Team this week. Four seniors (OL Matt Cleveland, CB Matthew Harvey, LB Tre'Shawn Robinson, and LB Korey Toomer), along with two juniors (P Bobby Cowan and H-BACK Mike LaGrone) were named to the list. This is the second year Cowan has made the list, after being named a First Team honoree in 2010.

FOR IDAHO TO RETURN TO BOWL ELIGIBILITY THIS FALL, a list of goals must be met, starting with each athlete meeting or exceeding expectations. But beyond that priority, there are three keys that are most frequently listed, including senior MICHAEL COSGROVE leading a more disruptive defensive line, improved productivity across the offensive line, and the play of first year starting QB Brian Reader.

A WEEK AND A HALF AGO, FOLLOWING THE FINAL SCRIMMAGE OF FALL CAMP, COACH AKEY CONFIRMED a starting offensive line had been selected. The group is enormous, averaging 6-foot-4 and 316-pounds tackle-to-tackle. What the group lacks in experience they make up for with moxie and talent, including a preseason All-WAC pick at left tackle, a JC Gridwire All-American at guard, and a loaded depth chart.

Led by Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award candidate senior MIKE IUPATI (6-6, 330), the Vandals boast the biggest, strongest, and deepest line assembled at Idaho in a decade. With a solid stable of tailbacks, strong competition under center, and a developing receiving corps, the Vandal line - featuring four seniors with game day experience - will be counted on to set the tone for the 2009 season.

Spring Camp 2009 is finished and the team now sets its focus on preparing for the season opener at New Mexico State in just a few months.
