Before this season, Earl Patin, the 6-1, 227 pound Southern Lab standout used his 4.75 40-speed to tally 80 tackles, six sacks and eight tackles for loss. His stats and play on the field earned him all-district as well as first-team all-state honors last season. He gave his verbal pledge to the Baylor Bears over the weekend.

Davis was named by Atlanta area coaches to the Region 7-AAAAA All-Region football second team and the Gwinnett All-County team after recording 39 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 9 receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown during his senior season in which he was the leader and key playmaker in the Peachtree Ridge secondary and helped carry the team to the 5A state championship

Earl Patin, the 6-2, 215-pound linebacker from Southern University Lab School, had his college selections narrowed to two schools last weekend--Miami and West Virginia. He has always liked Miami, but West Virginia needed linebackers, and that appealed to the Louisiana 1A All-State player.

Earl Patin, the 6-2, 225-pound linebacker from Southern University Lab in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, helped lead the West squad in the inaugural East meets West Challenge at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex to a 35-25 win this past Saturday. The score was deceiving. In an All-Star game where the rules favor the offensive side of the ball, the West showed great speed and pursuit on defense.
