Tomey Announces 07 Signing Class on Campus.

Head SJS coach, Dick Tomey, greeted boosters, fans, and the media, and talked about what he described as one of the most hard hitting recruiting classes ever! Coach signed 18 players to the 2007 SJS football recruiting class, and he announced the additions of the likes of Fred Koloto (Palo Alto HS DT), and Jeff Schweiger (USC Transfer DE). Stanford transfer, David Marerro is anticipated to enroll.

California defensive tackle Fred Koloto always said that his decision would be based on his comfort level and what could be more comfortable than staying close to home. Way back in mid-December, Koloto committed to San Jose State over Washington and a slew of WAC schools. He's kept it a secret until now.

DL/OL Fred Koloto visit report

Fred Koloto arrived in Seattle on Friday and was hosted by redshirt freshman Cameron Elisara. "He is a great person. He showed me around Seattle and I had a lot of fun with him. I enjoyed being around all of the guys, like Jake Locker and some of the offensive linemen," said Koloto told Dawgman.com this morning.

West Coast Shift

California defensive tackle Fred Koloto used to list Nebraska, Utah and BYU in his top five. He's changed his mind. Despite having scholarship offers from all three, Koloto says he has decided that the West Coast is for him and accordingly, he has a new top five.
