There was definitely a sense of excitement among the Arizona State coaching staff when then Oregon wide receiver Aaron Pflugrad announced that he will transfer to the Sun Devils. The Ducks knew that there were going to miss one of their young and upcoming receivers, while ASU was tickled to get a coach's son with a high football IQ to fill the void at slot receiver.

BILL MOOS knew this day would come, but he thought his wife would be there to lend support. No way, Kendra Moos told her husband. Come Saturday, when Bo Moos -- the eldest son of Bill and Kendra -- takes the field for Arizona State's homecoming football game with Washington State, Kendra will be cheering for the Sun Devils. One of the Sun Devils, anyway.

Soon after it was announced that Chip Kelly would be taking over for Mike Belotti as Oregon's head coach, it was also revealed that wide receivers coach Robin Pflugrad would no longer be a part of the staff. Pflugrad's son, Aaron, was on the Ducks roster and decided it was time to find a new home. Fortunately for the Sun Devils, in May of 2009, Aaron announced that he was coming to Arizona State.

On last year's scout team it was hard not to notice the play of Oregon transfer Aaron Pflugrad. Coming into this season the wide receiver was hailed as one of the significant additions on offense and in the first week of spring practice he has generally lived up to those accolades. We caught up with Pflugrad after last Saturday's scrimmage to talk about his spring performance.

COLLEGE BASEBALL, for a variety of reasons, rarely draws huge crowds in the Pacific Northwest. There's the sheer volume of games, dicey weather, afternoon games when people are working or going to school, games played after the school year ends, etc. School is out at Washington State, but this weekend presents an ideal opportunity for Cougar fans to turn out in droves.
