Hustad rolls with the changes

No one on the Sun Devils' squad waited as long as Matt Hustad to play in his first collegiate game. Not only did the redshirt sophomore see the field versus Idaho State, he started at right tackle. As he practices for his second contest in the maroon and gold, Hustad is now preparing to suit up at right guard. The adjustment to a new role doesn't faze the lineman who is starved for game action.

Competitiveness Gets Hustad Back on Field

Any competitive person absolutely can't stand to be on the sidelines watching his teammates play. That is why the knee injury that prevented Matt Hustad from seeing the field at all in his Sun Devil career has absolutely eaten him alive. But when ASU takes the field at Cal, the hard working and versatile Hustad could make his first appearance in the maroon and gold, perhaps even as a starter.

Montana Lineman Pledges to Sun Devils

Ever since their days in Idaho, Coaches Dennis Erickson and Gregg Smith forged a strong relationship with Helena product Matt Hustad. The lineman committed to Montana, but once that tandem recruited him as part of the Sun Devils staff, Hustad started having serious thoughts about his decision. Before he visited Tempe he knew he may be ASU bound. A Scholarship offer today cemented his decision.
